Poor Customer Service

The actual refrigerator may be okay, but the service from Amana/Whirlpool was terrible. In the delivery process (changing the refrigerator handle from one side to the other), one of the plastic filler pins was sheared and destroyed. Customer service was terrible and unresponsive in spite of three attempts I made and long waits. I was finally able to resolve the problem with Menards who finally obtained a new pin for me.

1st bottom freezer fridge

Have had this for just over a month and so far we love it. Only 1 comment about the quality. The veggie and fruit drawers tend to stick a little and are sometimes tough to get closed all the way. Otherwise it is wonderful and nice to have a fridge that keeps the correct temps in both sections.

I love this unit .I bought on sale but has the swing out door freezer. It stores a huge amount and EASY to see all things. I use Pyrex glass storage which helps to see and stack. The lighting is bright and the temp digital gauge is up front ,stays correct and easy to see.. A perfect unit for older people and you don't lose things at back that you can't see. LOVE THIS UNIT !!!!!!!!!!! The ONLY down side-which I don't mind is the gasket on the door is a tight seal sometimes it takes a second tug sometimes BUT the seal is GOOD and keeps food cold!!!! I have had units where the gasket isn't good BUT this one is tight and that keeps the cold in. ! Worth the buy! I have had this about 5 years now.

Could use some work.

It does the job but there are things that could be improved. The clear veggie bins do not slide in easily. You have to jiggle them the last inch every time. I have the black one and the finish scratches way too easily. I can™€™t imagine what it would look like with kids around. It would be nice if the freezer area had a solid bottom so that crumbs didn™€™t fall through to the floor.

We™€™ve had this fridge for about a month. My initial thought is that it is expensive for a basic fridge over freezer. Seems kind of cheaply made. The plastic drawers in the fridge do not slide well. Have to be gentle with them as they seem like they might break if you push too hard. The freezer drawer slides much better is very convenient.

I bought this refrigerator to replace a top mount freezer style that came with the condo we are renting. Have always liked Amana products and was happy to see they were the only one that I researched, that had a bottom mount. Much more user friendly to Senior Citizens, because the refrigerator is at eye level (don't have to get on my hands and knees anymore to get food from the bottom shelf of the old refrig). I PURCHASED THIS IN APRIL. IT WAS DELIVERED ON APRIL 18. I STILL DON'T HAVE A WORKING ICE MAKER. THE ICE MAKER WAS NOT WITH IT EVEN THOUGH I PURCHASED ONE, AND 3 WEEKS LATER, AN ICE MAKER WAS BROUGHT TO MY HOME THAT DID NOT FIT. THE NEXT WEEK ANOTHER ONE WAS BROUGHT AND INSTALLED BUT IT LEAKS, SO NOW I STILL DO NOT HAVE AN ICE MAKER. TODAY IS MAY 20. I LOVE THE FRIDGE, BUT AN ICEMAKER IS AN IMPORTANT PART THAT IS NOT WORKING, THEREFORE I CANNOT GIVE IT HIGH MARKS.

Reaching into the freezer bins is actually not as difficult as you might think – especially the top bin. And organizing the bins in a bottom freezer unit is the same as with a top freezer unit. So stop bending over to see, and stretching to reach, everything in your top freezer units' fresh section - which is accessed about 75% of the time compared to about 25% of the time for the freezer section. Once you have one you'll wish you had gotten one sooner. I did.

I just love it, the size, the shape, the features, the color, nothing about it I don't like. fits in well with my d?cor, it is not a BIG UGLY BOX like SO many others! And Amana is the way to go....this one replaced an old Amana, the best products out there!

Great Appliance

I bought this to replace a refrigerator/freezer that was 16 years old. I wanted a combination that had a bigger freezer portion than my previous one and when I saw this I knew it was the one. Both the refrigerator and freezer were the perfect sizes to to satisfy my needs. I would recommend this to anyone.

Another great Amana product

We have had this refrigerator/freezer for about two months and are really enjoying it. We have had Amana products for many years and this one is exactly as our last one except that it is black and has newer and more efficient items. We love the bottom freezer as it is more convenient for us and think more families should try it. The black is the first Amana product we have gotten and would have gotten another bisque or cream color but they are not available any longer. Oh, the nature of change we endure as we age.

Very discouraging.

Very disappointed regarding the small amount of space in the interior of my new refrigerator. I needed the height to fit in my space; however, the width could be about 3" wider to allow more shelf space. The door space is also inadequate.....very discouraging to fit extra food made for guests! I will probably have to buy a small refrigerator for my basement because of this. My old refrigerator fit in the exact same space, and I had more than enough space for my needs.
