I purchased this blender about a month ago. I love its appearance and it's performance. I love that it has a large bottom making it easy to clean. It is powerful and does a great job of blending anything that I throw at it. I especially like the safety feature if the on/off switch. Overall, I am thrilled with my attractive new blender.

The purchase was made so the blender would match a couple other appliances we bought. Turns out it was a good buy. It's smooth and quiet and has had no problems going thru anything we've thrown at it thus far. The only thing I would like to have seen done better is the soft start. It doesn't start up as slowly as I believed it would from the literature.

The die cast metal base is covered in plastic cover. It is stripped. I don't know if this can be fixed

Bought this blender a month ago to blend frozen yogurt and strawberries. It lasted a whooping 20 days. I get the replacement today and it lasted 5 maybe 5 min before is crapped out and over heated again.
I will not buy another Kitchen Aid blender again

I own several other wonderful KitchenAid products so it makes me wonder why it took me so long to buy this blender because it is THE BEST I have ever owned! You might need to experiment a little jut it has has chopped veggies for soup, blended frozen fruit for a healthy "ice cream" treat and makes incredible smoothies that are truly smooth - no lumps. When I'm in a hurry I will blend old fashioned oatmeal (not cooked), cinnamon, a scoop of protein powder and walnuts. Then I add a banana, almond milk and a little vanilla and you have a healthy quick breakfast. It is a little noisy but so were all the other brands of blenders I have owned. And, their quality, performance and longevity was lacking when compared to this KitchenAid blender. I like that the jar locks securely as a safety precaution and I don't end up with smootie all over my cabinets. It is sturdy, well made like all KitchenAid products and with care will serve you well and last a long time. As a side note, KitchenAid customer service is phenomenal! Courteous, efficient and helpful when ordering a product and answering questions.

Got this product as a gift and its not working like it used to. You can tell this is a cheap product and unfortunately I need to look elsewhere for something better and more durable. Do yourself a favor spend the extra few dollars and get yourself some quality that won't break down quickly.

Looks great next to my crystal blue stand mixer, but it does not work nearly as well as that. It cannot make smoothies. All it does is fling the contents which stick to the side of the vessel and creates a giant air bubble where the blades are. You constantly have to turn it off mix it yourself then continue to blend. The bottom of the container that connects to the motorized part is plastic which is absurd for something that has a name of quality. I marked the design of this as 2 stars. It looks great, but the design of the mechanical components themselves are terrible.

I bought this to replace a 'bullet' type blender, that just wasn't powerful enough. The KitchenAid is powerful, easy to use, and stylish (it matches my other KitchenAids). It purees frozen fruit faster than the 'bullet' ever did! Another plus is the easy clean up. It's a great machine at a reasonable price.

I've been using my KitchenAid - 5-Speed Diamond Blender for about 2 months. I purchased it to help us eat healthier, and was a little unsure if it would be able to blend all the different types of foods we were eating. After using it for one day, I knew it would be just what we needed. I make smoothies, soups, sauces, and even fudge truffles made from dates! It is a blender, so sometimes if the ingredients are too thick, you need to either add more liquid or stop and start the blender and use a spatula to adjust the ingredients until they are blended. Also, you cannot remove the blades, but they're easy enough to clean by adding warm water with dish detergent, and then pulse the blades until clean. If you read the instructions, you'll know everything that you need to operate it. This is a great blender, and the price makes it an excellent value.
