This dryer is so quiet while tumbling. The clothes come out wrinkle free, especially when removed and hung up right after the timer sounds. It is a great product!

Machine works well but quality control issue?

Ronald S 9/14/2026

We have had the dryer about 3 weeks. It works very well and we like the straightforward controls and intentionally wanted a machine that was not overloaded with tech. We did not want a "smart" appliance, but rather hope it is durable. I suspect it will be durable. When drying smaller items with sheets, the smaller items seem to get bunched up in the center of the tumbling sheets and don't get as dry. We had not seen that in the past. That may reflect the large capacity and the way items get distributed.. The only other concern we had was a quality control finding. The sheet metal on the back of the machine was not screwed in properly such that I noticed a 1/4 inch gap on the back and need to get my socket wrench to close the back properly. There was one screw on the back that was partially hanging out and wasn't fastened properly. That should have been seen in the factory. It shouldn't impact the function, and is fine now, but I was surprised I needed to do a small repair on the day of the installation. Maytag has been known for quality.

They don't make things like they used to

RicL 7/12/2026

Nothing like our old one. The old Maytag was 36 years old. The belt broke for the second time and I just figured it was time. I should've but the belt on. It's the old saying, They don't make things like they used to. Takes much longer to dry, I'm sure it's supposed to be saving the planet but I would much rather have dry clothes. Once you buy it unfortunately, you own it.

I am disappointed that his dryer does dry well if there is to a large load of laundry in it. So I have have to start doing smaller loads. Which means more time wasted of my busy schedule. I would not recommend

MAYTAG DRYER MADE BY WHIRLPOOL ... A PROBLEM

David Cascades 6/15/2026

Have bought Whirlpool and Kitchenaid products for over 30 years ... none of them ever died on me ... they got old and I replace them in working order!! This Maytag Dryer has been in my home for approx 6 months and the dryer drum/rollers or something is make a rhythmic thumping with ever turn of the drum. I am a bit disappointed in the Maytag because when I did an AI search of reviews on this model and Maytag Dryers generally, AI said that the main complaint with Maytag Dryers is that they often need servicing within the first year of operation. That's a quality control pattern issue that should be FIXED.

Good dryer, except the lint filter

Queretaro26 3/10/2026

I™€™m mostly satisfied with my Maytag dryer, but there is one feature I really don™€™t like. The lint filter is not easy to remove or clean, and since it needs to be cleaned after every drying cycle, it becomes a bit frustrating to deal with. It feels like it should be designed to come out more smoothly and be easier to maintain. Other than that issue, the dryer works fine and gets the job done. It dries clothes well and seems reliable overall. If the lint filter were easier to remove and clean, I would be much happier with it.

Defective.

Air Dried 2/25/2026

I purchased this dryer because my 25 year old Whirlpool (that was very similar) finally died. I have several Whirlpool and Maytag appliances throughout my home that have been great. This one, not so much... If you have drying racks, a clothes line or lots of places to hang clothes to air dry, this is your dryer! We have had issues since the first week with it stopping heating and the burner not coming on after the first or second load of laundry. We are a small family and don't actully do large loads. On the website, troubleshooting steps are to reset/unplug the device for a while- in my case, hours to overnight- and try again. This works for one to two loads, then reset again. Basically, when you realize that your clothes are not dry, you unplug this unity, hang all of your clothes to air dry and by the time the clothes AIR dry, you can use the dryer again. So, after one month and one day of resetting and hoping, I am calling in my first service repair. Hopefully a replacement is in order, not just a repaired faulty unit. Unfortunately, I had to wait a week for this one after purchasing because there wasn't one in my State. They don't build them like they used to. Rant over.

Great Dryer with Dials rather than Electronics

Maytags Are Great 1/11/2026

Dryer works great. I find that my clothes typically dry best on the more dry setting. The dryer is big enough to run a large load but fits into a compact space. Not too loud, which is great since the laundry room is right behind my kitchen. We™€™ve had it for over a month with no issues. We like the front pull down door which closes easily.

Some good some bad...mostly good

pja7 1/3/2026

It took 4 dryers before we received one that the bottom frame was not dented or deformed in shipping. Needs improvement in shipment packing? Must make certain the door is completely latched or the light remains lit....this may change over time. Clothes sometimes catch on the latch pin when loading the dryer. Otherwise, it is very quiet in operation, and performs well. The door orientation prevents clothes from falling on the floor during loading and unloading.
