Achieving and maintaining desired oven temperature is a challenge. Insulation of oven is very poor. Burner sensors cut off heat while browning meat or trying to maintain a rolling boil for things like making jam. This particular stove, with an exterior which overheats when using the oven, is not recommended for a house with children. Previous versions of this model had none of these issues. This one doesn't meet the expected Whirlpool standard.

1. I made 2 different cakes in 2 different pans and they were both way under cooked.
2. The gasket around the door was a thin rubber not a heavy gasket.
l was VERY disappointed with this stove and was told by the Whirlpool repair person that the temperature will fluctuate up and down a lot. For someone who loves to bake, this stove will not work for me. I was a true Whirlpool customer but not no more.

This range is nice and works well. There are a few drawbacks for me, personally, that I didn™™t catch when I ordered it online. 1) The stove burners, 2 large, 2 small, are on opposite sides from my older stove. I have had to reconfigure my work spaces on both side to accommodate for that difference. 2) The burner have a new safety feature that prevents them from getting too hot for a long period of time. This means when boiling water for pasta, as an example, the burner doesn™™t keep the water at a roiling boil. It lowers the temperature down mid-boil. 3) The pretty silver center of the burners turns dull and brownish after the heat discolors it. That center also has a button on top to recognize a pan is on it. 4) I did not notice when buying, it is NOT self-cleaning. 5) There is not a manual with the stove, do you have to figure out the digital control buttons and order on your own.
It is working properly and doing its job, so I won™™t be returning it. That™™s too much of a hassle, but I wish I had gotten at least the self-cleaning feature in my new appliance. ð™
Still would have liked to have a proper operating manual with it.

I have had this stove a little over a year and had it serviced 3 times. Burners will shut off after a few minutes making it difficult to boil water for pasta or eggs. First service man replaced a burner and know, second told me to get heavier cookware because of sensor and last one said to give it a minute and it would come back on. Would not recommend to anyone. I also had to replace a washing machine after a year and a half, only to find to was defective.

Garbage. The only job it succeeded in is taking up space.
This oven is in my rental house. It is trash. Here is why.
1. It does not work. If you set it to 400, it heats to 325. It's on average 60 degrees below what it should be.
2. It's not insulated well and takes forever to get to temp. It'll ding to say it's at the temp but if you check it it's off. If you crack the door for a second it looses all its heat.
3. Timer only rings quietly one time. Sometimes it'll ring more than once but for the most part just a silent little fart.
4. Oven is tiny.
5. 0-4 on the range setting it's even above body temp.
6. The flimsy racks inside do not hold any weight and flip if you pull the drawer out a mm too far.
There should be a criminal tribunal for anyone who thought it was ok to sell this scrap metal that takes up space. No pride in their products, and I will never buy anything from whirlpool again out of spite. I can not wait until my landlord replaces this abomination of an appliance you call an oven.
Did I mention it's hideous ?

This range was purchased to replace a decades old appliance that had served my elderly mother so well. Her initial reaction to this new unit has been less than positive. Aside from the expected learning curve to understand how to use it, she is very frustrated with the tiny size of the print used for the controls. With her impaired vision, this becomes a huge burden, especially as she is unfamiliar with how it works. I see no reason why Whirlpool couldn't have used a larger typeface for controls for the burners and the oven. So far, very frustrating, to the point she is unable to even attempt to use the range without assistance from someone else.

Bought this right before Thanksgiving as my other oven quit working. There was an adjustment period but I have been quite happy with my purchase. The oven is bigger than my old stove although it looks smaller from the outside, which is great.

It works fine, but there are a couple of things that I don't like. The fact that you have to push on the center of the burners will not allow the use of a wok with a ring. Even if you put the wok directly on the center of the burner, it doesn't always stay on. I'm still getting used to having to press the button to start everything, like timer. And the timer buzzer is not very loud and doesn't repeat.

Quite a learning curve w/ confusing instructions, as they include every possible model and feature, a great many of which do not apply to my model.
The timer is nice, in that it counts down the final minute by seconds, however w/ high-frequency hearing loss [very common among older folks] I can only hear the beep if my ear is within 8" of the range back-splash. At first I thought it didn't beep at all.
At times the surface units won't heat water to the rolling boil, but turn themselves off at the point of simmer.

I bought this in January and while it cooks well, be aware if a pot of pasta water boils over, the drip pans and burner box cover will be damaged. I had this happen to me. A pot of macaroni noodles boiled over. Down into the drip pan and below onto the burner box cover sheet. The drip pan was ruined to the point of no return. It was like the water ate right into the drip pan. Couldn't get the damage off and couldn't get it back to the chrome color. The same thing happened with the burner box cover sheet. I tried a scraper, scrape pad and nothing would get the outline off where the water laid onto the burner box cover sheet. And then when I got hold of customer service to do a service call while under warranty, they wanted to charge me $139 for a service call. Sorry, but warranty means warranty or at least it used to. I decided to buy new drip pans for way less than Whirlpool had them listed which were Whirlpool replacements and decided to wait on the burner box sheet as it's almost half of what a new range would cost. Customer service wasn't any help either on the $139 charge for a service call. Whatever happened to having a technician come out to fix problems. I believe that the drip pans and burner box sheet wasn't coated the way it should have been.

I bought it a month ago and am having problems with it, I baked a cake, it did not rise, then the ERR button went off, I hit cancel, opened the door , smoke came out , top of the cake was black,! I called and they tried to help. And this is not in the troubleshooting section. I baked another cake and it did not rise either.
Finally, I called today and asked for someone to come out and look at it and he is coming Friday.
Obviously it is not working properly.

I bought this to replace my 25-year-old Whirlpool electric range, which had become unreliable in maintaining accurate or stable oven temperatures, and occasionally suffered "runaway burner syndrome" on the cooktop. The new model is identical to the old one in many ways. However, the storage drawer is narrower, shallower, shorter and flimsier than the old one. If you stack many pans in there, the top ones will slide off the back. The side panels and back panel are noticeably flimsier, but I guess there's no point in paying for more steel than is necessary. I was happy to see that the metal for the stovetop itself is stronger than the old one, which tended to warp and buckle, throwing the burners out of level. So thank you for that, Whirlpool. I've only had this for two weeks, and it seems to work OK. But there are several cheap and simple things Whirlpool could have done to raise this rating to a 4 or 5. First, include a hard copy of the Control Guide, which explains how to use the thing. It wasn't easy to find on the Whirlpool website, and I shouldn't have to search for it or print it. Ridiculous. Second, increase the volume of the temperate and timer alerts. Better yet, make them adjustable. At the current volume, we can only hear the signals if we are in the kitchen. Third, beef up the storage drawer. Fourth, put some kind of a glide on the feet of the bottom oven coil. It expands and contracts as it heats and cools, and "chirps" as it moves back and forth on the oven floor. Someone on Reddit suggested putting a nickel under the feet. THANK YOU. That works. So invest another 10 cents, Whirlpool. Fifth-and similarly-put some kind of glide or pad between the clips on the frame and the bottom of the side panels. The two surfaces are both raw steel, and they are not fastened together. The tiniest bump on any part of the range produces an irritating screech. Once I found the problem, I inserted little strips of plastic between the surfaces and the screech totally disappeared. (Cardboard strips also work)

i haven't used everything on my new stove yet, so far the burners who ever came up with those stupid buttons should collecting unemployment they are stupid and as soon as i can get some money i will replace them. i did get to use the oven and it worked well, i have broiled a lot my whole like and have yet to try the broiler. it's a pretty stove (womans view) but like i said the burners are a big disappointment

The range had a wiring issue from the factory and shorted out the same day it was delivered. I pushed the oven light button to turn on the oven light and it sparked. After a month and two visits by a repair technician the range was still not working and a third visit to repair the range was being scheduled. Once I pleaded and made my case to Whirlpool for the third time that a new replacement oven should be sent out since we bought four major kitchen appliances and the range/oven was never even used they finally agreed. It took another couple weeks to receive the new replacement so now after almost two months we have a new working electric stove/range.

Was disappointed in the fact that the oven door was not centered on the stove so it rubbed my counter top on one side when I closed it. Had to move oven out a few inches and buy a topper to keep things from falling behind the stove. The oven and stove top, however work fine.

I HATE this stove!! This was a panic buy, so most of the blame lays on me. Normally, before I make a purchase, especially of this dollar amount, I research and review. But, as I said, this was a panic buy. I have always been a Frigedaire brand lover, however, the only thing Lowes had in Frigidaire were smooth tops-been there-NEVER AGAIN. I am sooo disgusted with this stove, if I could afford to, I would push it out the door. I really expected more from Whirlpool.

So glad that we were finally able to arrange delivery of our Whirlpool electric range. Our old range was down to nearly ZERO functionality by the time our Whirlpool delivery arrived. We LOVE the storage drawer in the bottom, and are getting used to the "nipple" activator in the middle of the burners. Had to get a new tea kettle to accommodate the burner activator and burner size. We are also getting used to the difference in knobs, and cooking time required. We are absolutely thrilled about the bright and visible clock and settings window, plus the size of the range, which fit perfectly into the space between our counters. We are cooking now! ð'
