Great Stove ruined by ™€œsafety™€ design

Let me start by saying that, when the power is on, this is actually a great stove. The burners work well, I love having the double ovens, and overall I have been very satisfied with its cooking performance. But Whirlpool made one decision that completely changes how I feel about this range: THE GAS COOKTOP CANNOT BE USED DURING A POWER OUTAGE. Seriously, what is the point of having a gas stove if a loss of electricity prevents you from using the gas burners? I fully understand that the ovens and electronic controls require electricity. I don™€™t expect the ovens to work when the power is out. But one of the major advantages of having a gas cooktop has always been the ability to manually light a surface burner when the electronic ignition isn™€™t available. Whirlpool took that advantage away with this model. During a power outage, I have a perfectly good natural gas supply coming into my house and a gas stove sitting in my kitchen, yet I still can™€™t cook because Whirlpool designed the cooktop to require electricity. Had this limitation been made clear to me before I purchased the range, I absolutely would have bought a different model. The stove deserves a much higher rating based purely on how it cooks. I™€™m giving it two stars because this is not some minor inconvenience to me™€"it defeats one of the primary reasons I chose a gas range in the first place. Whirlpool, please reconsider this design. A gas cooktop should not become useless just because the electricity goes out

This stove does not cook evenly in either of the ovens. The sales company does not calibrate them and I found no self usable instructions to do it myself. The burners on top are either high or medium. I do not recommend this stove at all. I am very dissappointed.

I would encourage everyone to purchase appliances from a local store, such as home Depot or Lowe's. Ordering directly from this website is a formula for disaster. Forget about using customer service unless you have hours to donate waiting on hold - and I do mean hours. Never ever will I make this mistake again. The installation was so poor that the gas company has turned off the gas. I have a $1,700 bill including installation charges and a stove that leaks gas. Very disappointing. Don't do it. Call Lowe's or Home Depot.

Possible poor craftmanship of gas regulator.

This was a 2k range that I bought at a discount from a Lowe's Outlet, and it is broken; I had to file a ticket to get serve and wait over a week. they come tomorrow so maybe by then I'll have changed my mind. It looked great but I prob should not have bought it at an outlet - instead of fixing whatever the initial issue was they just resold it. It seems Whirlpool gas regulators are defective or low quality. Hopefully after it is fixed ill actually get o enjoy it. If service is a hassle ill never buy another whirlpool again.

broken burner grate

I'm writing today to express may frustration and dissatisfaction with the Whirlpool range model wgg745s0fs10. I purchased the range February 23, 2024. However, I did not begin using it until May 1, 2024. Today I discovered the weld on the burner grate is broken. I have used the range for less than two years and am very disappointed the grate would brake in such a short time under typical use. I researched the Whirlpool site for a replacement part - $259. I am beyond disappointed and frustrated with Whirlpool's quality and customer service. This range was not inexpensive and for it to break in less than two years without an offer to simply replace the part for free, regardless of the warranty parameters, seems unreasonable to me.

A Masterclass in How Not to Design a Stove

This range was installed by the developer during the remodel of this old house, and let™€™s just say™€¦ choices were made. Unfortunately, none of them were good ones. From day one, the range has been more of a science experiment than an appliance. The control panel began melting the first time a pot looked at it the wrong way. The burners sit so far from the pots that boiling water feels more like a long-term commitment than a cooking task. The oven deserves its own paragraph. Rather than keeping heat inside™€"like an oven is famously supposed to do™€"it generously shares it with the entire kitchen. When the oven is on, the stovetop heats up almost as much as the food inside, and the kitchen quickly turns into a sauna. We now open every door in the kitchen whenever we use it, not for ambiance, but for survival. In short, this is a spectacularly bad piece of design. It cooks, eventually™€"but only after melting itself, heating the house, and testing our patience.

Buyer Beware!

We purchased this gas range just over a year ago. In that time we have replaced the console cover twice as it is not heat resistant. The cover is not stainless steel, rather it is made of some kind of cheap material which is painted in a stainless looking paint. Over time if you use the range, the paint fades, chips and peels. I am working with Whirlpool to replace the cover yet again but it seems the parts coming from the warehouses have poor quality and are damaged. The grills covers are also not durable and if you use a propane conversion as we do, be aware that the burners never got hot enough. Overall, a truly disappointing piece of equipment. I bought this together with other Whirlpool appliances and I must say it is a total dud compared to their dishwashers and microwaves. I won™€™t be fooled by brand loyalty again.

I bought this last January. Apparently it was not put together properly as I have had to redo some of the work myself. In any event, the bottom oven igniter burned out. It is still under warranty & I received an appointment to have it replaced. The warranty repair appointment was rescheduled & within a few days, was canceled all together. Was told to order the replacement parts (I did) and hire someone to fix it for me. I would be reimbursed. I still haven™€™t received the part.

I bought this about six weeks ago to replace the GE oven that the contractor put in our new house. We wanted a double oven and one made in America. Any way, in the little time that we have used it, we have had to guess at the correct temperature and adjust it because it is not set correctly. Both ovens require calibration, so we are going to do that as soon as we get our oven thermometer. A disappointing requirement.

The replacement price I™€™ve found online is absolutely insane which has made me just deal with it for now. Probably find something else.

I purchased the double oven range back in 2022 because we moved and I bought all new appliances. From day one every time I used the oven it would set the carbon monoxide detector off. I always had to open the window or sliding glass door. So now for about the last year both oven temperatures do not work. I can set any temperature and the temperature inside both ovens get so hot and burn anything you try to bake.Oven temperatures are so high that I can™€™t use the ovens at all. For the money I paid I expect an appliance to work for more years than this. The control knobs are also a problem as others have stated about bumping them and then the gas leaks. I am thinking I need to get rid of this stove. It is just very unsafe to use. I constantly have to check the knobs to be sure they are not causing a gas leak. Buyer beware!! Model number WGG745S0FS02

I've had this double oven range for 8 months and primarily have used the small top oven for sides during the summer. The bottom oven was used once and then would not work again. Appliance repair tech came out within a week of my request, had parts on hand (broken igniter) and had it repaired quickly. Work and parts were under warranty. I do love having a gas range again and if not for the problem, I would have given it 5 stars.

Excellent. I had a lot of insecurity in this purchase. Seems like a lot of negative reviews. But by carefully reading through them I could see many reviewers didn™€™t seem to know what they were doing. I ordered this oven and after a 2.5 month wait it arrived. The first several uses, everything turned out perfect! The top oven takes a little getting used to, but it is very capable and will do most of your baking. The bottom oven in convection mode produces gorgeous baked goods with golden brown crusts that are to die for. Both ovens preheat very fast and seem to be very true to temperature. The top oven has the broiler in the middle which takes up a little room, but casseroles and covered pans fit by just putting them in a little off center. The small top oven puts out very little exhaust and does not heat up my kitchen or house. The bottom oven is very powerful and can take on really big jobs with ease. The top of the unit has two burners in front. The one on the right is considered your standard burner and is my first choice for everything. It easily will heat up large heavy fry pans and sautà pans. When you call for more heat and turn it up it produces a lot of power and does to disappoint. The oversized burner on the left front is one of the most powerful burners I have ever used. It easily boils a large pot yet can be tamed down for a gentle simmer if need be. If you crank it up it roars with power! Heats a big stock pot to boil easily. I find this double stove/oven combo an absolute joy to cook with and recommend it to anyone who really enjoys cooking. It is not as glamorous as the super premium stoves out there, but it is super capable and you wont outgrow it for a long time. And for what you pay for what you get, I think this unit is a super deal. Don™€™t be afraid to get this one!

Very nice stove and double oven we are loving it..... there. Is only one problem and that is the hinges on the grades do not fit into the hinges properly and scratch the face of the stove top.

Lift-off grates are the best!

I™€™m loving this range for its versatility. The Whirlpool gas burners are a perfect size so I don™€™t have to worry about the flames extending beyond pots. I find myself using the convection oven feature most of the time. The lift-up grates are so much easier to use than the heavy lift-off grates on other brands. My only complaint is that there is only one timer for 2 ovens. However, I found that I have lots of timers available nearby so it™€™s not a serious issue.

Beware of this oven

Its a nice range and the top looks nice but the oven is awful. Neither top or bottom oven keeps temperature. Top over is fine up to 350 and then goes haywire. It go so hot, yesterday that it set the parchment paper on fire! Bottom over cant be used as it sets off the smoke detectors when it get turned on.
